Simple WebApp to check if site is IPv6 ready
That WebAPP is working fine and thanks so much. We must all learn how to use all the utilities that are available now for IPv6.
The number of IP's available are about the same as the number of grains of SAND of earth.
All be safe.

Tried using dhcp and wins on Comcast ipv6 DNS
can't get wifi ipv6 on the ipad, only ipv4. Though can get it on my Win7 PC Laptop. Is it because I don't have an IPV6 router? When I connect via 3G microcell is is also ipv4. This IPV6 test in June is going to be a disaster. |

Simply browse to this site and your IPv6 address will show up in the 'Your IP address' block on the right hand side.

Improved transit connectivity
We finally finished migrating our IPv4 connectivity to our high quality transit provider Atom86 (AS8455). We already got our IPv6 connectivity from them but the migration of IPv4 was still on the todo list. At the moment Atom86 kindly provides us 100Mbit/s IPv4 and 100Mbit/s IPv6 low-latency transit connectivity for which we are very grateful. The migration itself involved a change of IP addresses which resulted in a change of DNS records, including a glue record, firewall access-lists etc. This all went pretty smoothly although we suspect that some people may have experienced timeouts on the website while the DNS changes propagated across the world.
Thanks to the engineers at Atom86 and Schuberg Philis for making this possible! |

Does anyone know if their routers are IPv6 enabled specifically Linksys WRT160N ? If so what models. It appears their web site does not document anything regarding IPv6. |

Windows 7 randomizes addresses?
Hi Jo,
You are right. Windows 7 (Server 2008 & Vista as well) by default randomizes ipv6 auto-configured address selection. This is in violation with section 4 of RFC 2464 that mandates that the network identifier part of the IPv6 address is derived from the 48-bit MAC address for Ethernet (and Wireless) interfaces.
It may be that Microsoft chose to do this for privacy reasons..
For most users this will not be much of a problem but for those running a server it will. There is however a solution:
netsh interface ipv6 set global randomizeidentifiers=disabled
This will switch the feature off and address selection will be based upon the EUI-64 identifier, derived from the interface’s built-in 48-bit IEEE 802 address.

An interesting new slideshare presentation was just added:
IPv6: What, Why, How
Jen "Furry" Linkova
Openwall, Inc.
March 2009
Presentation (60 slides) to introduce those familiar with IPv4 to IPv6.
Covers both "executive" and highly technical topics, with a slight bias
on security and privacy. View it here.

Norton 360 is blocking neighbor solicitation on Vista
This took me a while to find out but may be of interest to anyone trying to run a autodiscovery setup on Vista with Norton 360 installed.
It appears that Norton is blocking the Neighbor Solicitation request which basically breaks everything. Changing the ICMPv6 traffic rule into an in- AND outbound rule fixed it for me. |

Dibbler problem
I have problem with my dibbler installation. I am running it on Windows XP, I have configured it as a server with the /64 that was handed to me by provider and which is routed across my tunnel.
My Vista laptop does autoconfigure an address but it doesn't seem to get anything from the dibbler dhcp server.
Am I missing something?
